Robert Fripp y Michael Giles en 1969 comenzaron el reclutamiento, mi pana Greg Lake era el cantante y bajista para el debut de su primer álbum, un disco al que se le hizo culto entre los fans "In The Court of The Crimson King" además de Ian McDonnald y Peter Sinfield.

Anterior a la formación de la banda, Michael Giles y su hermano colocaron un anuncio buscando talento y Robert Fripp acudió al llamado, en un principio formaron una banda llamada Giles, Giles & Fripp, su versión de I Talk To The Wind.

Estaba tratando de medio organizar los conciertos de DVD y cuando coloqué "Big Brother" de Rare Earth, me acordé de Julie! Yo si quiero a mi Yu Li Tah!!! Repito la historia. Conocí a Julie a principios de los 80´s e inmediatamente aprendí a quererla y ese amor crece cada día más. Para hablar con ella se necesita un diccionario Julie-Español porque es demasiado cómica. Cuando se casó con Toton Zabala lo hizo con flores en el cabello, full hippie y es que Julie y Toton aparte de encargarse de la coordinación del grupo SYMA en su entorno estaban siempre Carlitos Morean, Trino Mora, Ivo y todos los que "sonaban" a finales de los 60's y principios de los 70´s Los Darts, Los 007, Los Impala.
El Grupo SYMA revolucionó el standard de los grupos de esa época porque componían algunas canciones y no solo se dedicaban a hacer "cover".
Y cuando vino Tierra Rara a presentarse en Valencia se escucharon los acordes de Joven, I don´t know why y otras antes de Get Ready, Big Brother y I just want to celebrate!

Ayer pasé por el mercadito de Los Castores, entre las cositas que me traje esta un cd de mp3s del aclamado grupo alemán de música electrónica, Tangerine Dream. Fundado en 1967 por Edgar Froese, la banda ha sufrido muchisimos cambios atraves de los años manteniéndose Froese siempre como el dueño de la vajilla! "Dolphin Dance"
Klaus Schulze fue parte del grupo en sus primeros años aunque quizás el más estable de los periodos fue a mitad de los 70´s cuando estaba integrado por Froese, Christopher Franke y Peter Baumann. A principios de los 80´s Johannes Schmoelling reemplazó a Baumann, esta versión también fue bastante productiva. "Coldwater Canyon"
Se niegan a ser encasillados en el renglón de música New Age! Aparecen en más de 60 soundtracks! "Cloudburst Flight"
Sus albumes son obras de arte, han sido descritos como "improvisaciones amorfas de rock" (?) (vaya ud. a saber) su ritmo hipnótico es dominado por los sonidos compuestos del mellotron, guitarra eléctrica y sintetizadores análogos! A pesar que muchas bandas de esa época "post psicodelica" estaban improvisando, ninguna lo hacía al nivel de Tangerine Dream!
Yo por mi parte considero su música como "timeless" y cada vez que la escucho me sumerjo de tal manera en ella que pasan horas sin que me de cuenta, sus acordes me llevan a un lugar donde los segunderos no recorren su monótona circunferencia, cuando "regreso" me encuentro en el mismo lugar, aunque la tarde cambió a noche ó la noche a madrugada, me siento renovado, liviano.........Libre! Como muestra, aquí está "Sun Gate" Escucha esta pieza y atraviesa las "Puertas del Sol" limpia tu alma y regresa puro!
Hablando de "flicks" con un buen soundtrack! Por supuesto que la primera vez que la vi (en el Cine Humbolt) era muy chamo y fue complicada para que la entendiera, pero si supe de una que tenía que comprar el disco! La mal traducida al español, Las Fresas de la Amargura" tiene piezas muy buenas, mis preferidas:
